Meet Alora
Born and raised in Novi, Michigan Alora has always shown her creativeside proudly. Having had a fondness for entrepreneurship blossomed through a lifetime of Girl Scouts and watching her parents become successful at becoming their own bosses, she started numerous "businesses" in high school and early in college to just earn some extra pocket money. Uniquely Geek Designs was started in January 2015 in her dorm room at Alma College and debuted at AlmaCon in 2015. From the start she has done everything from shirt making, embroidery, jewelry making, etc.
Alora has an Associates in Liberal Arts - Theatre from Oakland Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in History & Educational Studies from Alma College, and a Masters of Science in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University. Her love of History took her to SE Oklahoma for 4 years to work as the Curator of the Choctaw Nation Museum, a tribe in which she is a proud member of, but ultimately felt a pull to return to Michigan in early 2023.
She now resides in Westland, Michigan with her partner Zac and their five cats: Apollo, Artemis, Wednesday, Berlioz, and Coraline. Alora and Zac spend their weekends at Comic Cons throughout the Great Lakes Region selling their wares. When Alora is not vending at her own booth, she is helping Zac sell his artwork with his business: StarSeeker Design and Publication. They welcomed their first Geekling, Lachlan Willow, in December 2023 and are enjoying their newest adventure as new parents while building their businesses.
